OREM - It was obvious within the first minute of the game that Hurricane came ready to play and had a bit of unfinished business when the opponent was Juan Diego. The Tigers, who have nearly every basketball player play football as well, still feel their life is 2.9 seconds short as they lost on a last second play to the Soaring Eagle last November to claim 2nd place in 3A football.

So Thursday, while the trophy still is in a prominent spot at JDHS, a little bit of satisfaction was felt after Hurricane knocked off JD 60-49 to advance to the 3A Semi-finals on Friday against Wasatch.

Senior Jaden Seely had one of his best games of the year, scoring a team high 16 points and got Hurricane off to a fast start. Hurricane held JD to just nine points in the opening half and met every threat posed by the Soaring Eagle.
