Since the football season has concluded, post-season awards have been presented and numerous players from TUP teams have earned top honors.
Davis’ Tanner Hinds 5A MVP. Hinds, a two time All-State running back help lead the Darts to the championship game. He ran for over 1,900 yards, scored 24 TD’s and piled up 2,548 all purpose yards for Davis. Other first team all-state members include:
Beau Bracken, OL Davis. A two year starter for Ryan Bishop, Bracken was also the team captain for Davis.
Tallon Burton, LB Davis. 71 tackles is good enough for any person to make top honors. Burton was one of the key cogs to the strongest defense in the state.
Josh Kariya, DL, Davis. 69 tackes, two interceptions and fear in many quarterbacks eyes.
Hurricane
Ian Gates, OL/LB Hurricane. 86 tackles, dominated the field on both sides of the line
Kylynn Iverson, OL, Hurricane. Powered the Wing-T offense
Jeff Staples, DL, Hurricane. Over 50 tackles, biggest surprise for Tigers
Theron Joe, OL, Hurricane. Solid player for Region 9 champs.
Corey Edwards, K, Hurricane. Only a junior, already best kicker in the state.
Connor Stephens, DL, Bonneville. Led the state with 17 sacks for the Lakers
- Hinds is being heavily recruited by Weber State, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, Montana and Idaho. Insiders report that he is leaning toward Ron McBride and the Wildcats.
- Younger brother Troy Hinds, just a sophomore, has been offered a chance to play for the University of Utah
