Tigers Take State!!!

October 31st, 2008 · No Comments · Volleyball

OREM - It was a sweep in against all four teams which had to be quite a surprise for some teams looking at the Tigers going into the state tournament. Not that the Tigers were not going to do well, but 12-0? At State? Against Morgan? Against Carbon? The answer ended up being a resounding YES as this group of very talented girls dominated the 3A State Tournament.

What could be the most scary thought on this Halloween night? They are young and they will be back next year. The Tigers brought home a third place trophy last year and felt like things were left undone under Coach Daniel McKeehan team. After rolling to a Region 9 title, they had a tune up against defending state champion Snow Canyon twice last week and proved battle ready for the tournament.

Hurricane knocked off the Dinos in the championship match 25-23, 25-21, 25-11, getting stronger as the match went on. This is the first championship at Hurricane for this coaching staff which includes former coach Ron Quilter.

Seniors Megan Clyde and Jordan Ha will depart with over 90 wins in their four years wearing the Red and Black, including a 26-10 mark this year.
